Union Public Service Commission-Civil Services being one of the toughest examination of our country requires a lot of hard work and perseverance. As we all know it is time consuming and often compromises with the financial independence of a candidate. But not now.
Central government has come up with a centralized portal where in all the details of a candidate appearing in the examination will be well maintained. Along with the personal information, marks obtained in various attempts will be clearly mentioned. This data will be accessed by private companies based on what they can recruit these candidates.
As per Central Personnel Department and Public Grievances Ministry, candidature of all those attempting SSC, UPSC and other similar government examinations, will be published on a common portal which will clearly mark candidates roll number, name, eligibility criteria, address, marks obtained and respective ranking.
However a candidate can also choose whether they want their marks to be disclosed on portal or not. This option will be recorded at the form-filling stage itself.
We already have similar options in CAT (Common Aptitude Test) a premiere all-India entrance examination for management. The percentile scored by candidates are bare on the portal and any private college other than IIM’s can approach students based on their candidature.
This is really a praise-worthy step as the increased competition and comparatively decreased vacancies have made a student’s life really tough and pragmatic abyss. Such options will outdo redundancies of qualifying examinations and invoke transparency in the system.
Studentsfailing marginally or not qualifying based on minute negligible issues can avail for better opportunities promoting equality in broader aspect. This will also increase a student’s confidence to really buckle up and leaving everything aside prepare for it, as this portal satiates the idea of financial security at later stages ,to some extent.
