Amitabh Bachchan Carries The London Olympic Torch

London,July,26: Bollywood Super Star Amitabh Bachchan carried the Olympic Torch in London at Southwark on the final journey of its 300-metre relay on today, a day before the opening ceremony of the Games.

The 32.7 mile final relay of the Olympic Torch had legendary personalities from all over the world and all walks of life, including Lewis Moody, Jim Anderson, Lawrence Dallaglio, Phil Packer, Darren Fitzpatrick and Tom Davis.

Amitabh Bachchan was specially invited by the officials of Olympic game to be a part of the London Olympics.

Bachchan, 69, had earlier tweeted: "OK !! HERE IT IS : Have been invited by London Olympic Organizing Committee to carry the torch in the relay tomorrow ..."

"Honored to be asked to carry the Olympic Torch in London at Southwark around 10:30 AM !! A proud moment for me and country," he added. 

It was a proud moment of India as Amitabh Bachchan walks as much as 300 meter with Torch and thousands of spectators and fans were standing across the road to take a glimpse of the star of Millennium

UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and NRI businessman Laxmi Mittal were among others who were part of the relay team today.
