State government has given approval to amend the results of Jharkhand Public Service Commission Preliminary examination declared a few days ago. The decision followed the high level meeting attended by Chief Secretary, Personnel Secretary, JPSC Director as well as other top rank officials. As per the sources, the results declared on 23rd February will be amended after the continuous protest by the candidates and other JPSC aspirants. In this regard the candidates have already met the Chief Minister as well as other ministers of the state.
According to the students the reservation criteria as guaranteed under the law has not been implied while devising the results. Contrary to what Mr. Jagjit Singh, JPSC secretary said that to devise the results, examination circular has been thoroughly followed and that the reservation criteria is considered while preparing the final merit list and not separately for the preliminary examination. Following the discussions, the Chief Minister connoted them to update the results in favour of candidates.
In total there are 326 posts and 5138 students had qualified to attempt the main examination till date. After the prescribed amendments the number of candidates qualifying for the mains will increase significantly. The consent of law department too has already been taken in this regard. The revised results will be updated by May as the main examination is scheduled between 25th May and 9th June.
