New Delhi,Dec,16:Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is in the advance stage of transformation for the Civil Services Examination flagged with the Alagh Committee Report which had already testified the second ARC Report.

UPSC is only a year away from much awaited change in Mains Exam pattern held for appointment of the IAS, IFS,IPS,IRS etc.

Earlier this year UPSC Chairman D P Agarwal commented while talking to the media that, "Change is Inevitable". He also said, "UPSC has already constituted a panel to look into the matter.

As per latest information the report of the panel has already submitted to the government as PMO Minister confirmed in the parliament about that.If recommendation of the panel is accepted then is most likely to be in effect from 2013 .

It was learned that the changes in the Prelim pattern is effective from the year 2011. Doing away with optional in prelims was supported by almost all the candidates however implementation of new syllabus in the form of CSAT led to disappointments in some aspirants who belongs to Hindi medium background.

New CSAT syllabus slightly favors science and engineering graduates humanities students had to bite their nail and adjust to the new conditions.

The Mains pattern for the Civil Services Examination is expected to change to bring these kinds of reactions as UPSC is looking to create a level the playing field for every type of students.

There will be some protest from the people who have appeared in the Mains Examination under old pattern because of their difficulty to adjust. On the whole, the change is going to bring more equality, rationality and simplicity to the Civil Services (UPSC) Examination.

According to DP Agarwal the Chairman of UPSC” two successive committees (Alagh committee and 2nd ARC) have recommended the pattern change “

From the tone of UPSC Chairman, it is almost inevitable that he wants to see it implemented as soon as possible.
