Jharkhand Government Seeks Legal Openion In Reappointing Dismissed Officers Appointed By JPSC

Ranchi,Aug,21:Advocate General of Jharkhand has provided legal opinion in the matter of reinstating as many as 147 Gazetted Officers of the Government after confusion over the Apex Court's order of August 7 which has put a stay on paragraph 62 of the Ranchi High Court order of June 14.

The 147 administrative officers had moved the Apex Court, challenging the 'no work no pay' order of the Ranchi HC.

The Jharkhand Government had asked for legal opinion in the matter which has already been given to the Jharkhand Government," revealed Advocate General of Jharkhand Anil Kumar Sinha.

The State Government shoughted for the clarification on the 19 officers including brother of deputy Chief minster's brorher who had earlier been dismissed by the Jharkhand Government after they were found to have adopted unfair means for getting selected in Civil Services Examination of JPSC," added the AG.

As per sources, the 19 officers were also trying to get advantage from the Supreme Court order despite the fact that they had been dismissed by the Government way back . However, the relief given by the SC was only for the other 147 officers, they added.

While affected administrative officers are monitoring the inch by inch development in this matter. "We have information that the file which was sent to the CM has been returned, asking for legal opinion in the matter by the AG," said one of the aggrieved officer.

"The issue is deliberately being delayed by the government. They simply have to comply with the Supreme Court's order; there should not be any confusion," the candidate added.

The Ranchi High Court on June 14 had directed a CBI probe into all the recruitment examinations conducted by JPSC till date and to debar all the 167 selected candidates through the second Combined Civil Services Examination of their services and salaries in the public interest.

Following the Ranchi High Court's order, the Jharkhand Government immediately removed all the administrative officers from their offices who had been selected by the manipulated process of second JPSC Civil Services Examination, causing acute shortage of officers at the block level.

 The affected officers had then approached the Apex Court, opposing the 'no-work-no-pay' order of the Ranchi High Court and got the relief.
