Gaurav Agrawal Tops 2013 Civil Service Exam

DELHI: UPSC declared the 2013 Civil Services Examination results on Thursday, in which 1,122 successful candidates had cleared this high-status examination to join the premier civil services. The results are based on the written test which was conducted in December 2013 and the interviews for the shortlisted candidates are planned during April-June 2014.  

As per the latest results, this is a first time in the four years when a male candidate has topped, Gaurav Agarwal tops with the rank 01 in the prestigious Civil Services Examination 2013. Munish Sharma and Rachit Raj from Delhi have got second and third positions in this examination.

Gaurav Agarwal, Jaipur boy really nailed this exam and ranked first with the Economics as his optional subject. Gaurav Agarwal holds Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology Lucknow. He received 244 rank in the 2012 Civil Service Exam and got Indian Police Service (IPS) and he is training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad.

This 29 year old boy said, for the preparation of 2013 Civil Services, I studied 6-8 hours. He cracked this prestigious exam in the second attempt. He has also worked with Citi Group in Hong Kong as an Investment Banker, between 2008 and 2011.
