Sunita Williams Rewrites History On Her Second Space Visit

New Delhi, July, 15:Indian-Origin Sunita Williams a NASA astronaut took off on her second space visit on July 15. With this expedition, Williams become first woman in history of mankind to head a space mission.

Wishes and prayers began in India to pour in for Sunita William as she moved for her second space odyssey. The 46-year-old took off aboard the Soyuz spacecraft of Russia that sucessfuly lifted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

She accompanied by two flight engineers each from Russia and Japan and she will be making two space walks during the three month long mission.

The trio will be reaching the International Space Station on 17th July, joining the Expedition-32 crew who are already present at space station.

Former Indian president APJ Abdul Kalam who is also a space scientist wished the astronaut the best. "I want to say 'all the best' (to Sunita Williams)."

Sunita Williams had taken her last space flight 6 years ago, the astronaut spent a record breaking 195 days in space, she is the only woman in history to do so. This time, she will be flying up in a Russian Soyuz capsule.
