Mumbai,Sept,7:The television reality games in India show that the knowledge can also be used as a medium in game shows to earn money was Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) that started in the year 2000. This Quiz game show aired at a time when daily soaps were the only that could attract viewers. 

Earlier KBC reality game show aired in Star Plus but after the fourth season onwards it was started being aired in Sony Channel. The KBC sixth season is to start from today onward.

For a game show of a huge stature that was got as the biggest television game show ever of the millennium needed somebody who could match up to that or only enhance it all the more and thus Big B was brought on quiz board. 

At a time when Amitabh Bachchan was losing his charisma and popularity on celluloid he got the offer of hosting KBC quiz show. Later while talking to media Amitabh Bachchan revealed that many had told him not to agree to the offer, but he did so and there has been no looking back. His production house ABCL was also indebted for large sums of money which he could not pay back and was going through a rough patch in his acting career and trying times in his life when this KBC happened.

The KBC has its origins in the UK-based show named “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” and it closely followed the given format. However, now with five successful seasons that have passed the formats and rules have been changed a little to fill-in more drama or make it more interesting. 

The first two editions were hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. Due to his ill-health the third season was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan who was thought of as a fit candidate who could step into the shoes of Amitabh Bachchan but  could not take the show onto the level that Amitabh Bachchan could and therefore he returned to the next season and ever since then has remained associated with it.

The KBC also introduced “Ghar Baithey Jeeto Jackpot” series where Amitabh Bachchan asked a question on each episode that could make a person win one lakh or two lakhs being seated at home through a phone call.

During the KBC 6 a new promotional strategy of “Hot Seat Aapke Shehar” introduced. The famous “hot seat” of this game show travelled across the various towns of India this time around.  Towns like Raipur, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Patna, Bhubaneshwar, Howrah and Nagpur got the first-hand experience of this show on their very own native streets. 

The KBC van activity was on for two to three days that gave rise to an event on a small-scale. The participants who were selected for this got an experience of sitting on the replicated “Hot Seat” and was asked questions through a pre-recorded video by Big B. The lucky winners were awarded prizes.

The popularity of KBC show is unparalleled and it is undoubtedly the most watched game show on indian TV industry. 

KBC helped many people to realise their dreams, brings them closer to their longings and aspirations by providing them money through them only flashing their knowledge.

KBC has big Television Rating sixth season’s premiere is going to be telecasted today we only hope that it breaks all previous records.
