Instructions:
  • Answer five of Questions.
  • Candidates are required to give their answers in their own words as far as practicable.
  • All questions have been printed both Hindi and English. In case of ambiguity in Hindi version, the English version shall be considered authentic.
  • Parts of the same Question must be answered together and must not be interposed between answers to other Questions.

1.Write notes (in about 225 words each) on any four of the following:.
  • (a). Neo-determinism.
  • (b). Rural-Urban Fringe.
  • (c). North Atlantic Trade Route.
  • (d). Insolation.
  • (e). Interior of the Earth.
  • (f). Soil profile.

2. Describe the structure of the atmosphere and discuss the main characteristics of each layer of atmosphere.

3. What is meant by "Plate Tectonics"? Clarify the major plates of the earth and their distribution.

4. Explain the surface features of 'Oceanic Bottom' continental slopes, deep sea plains and oceanic deeps?

5. What is meant by 'Biome'? Discuss the ecological aspects of 'Asian Monsoon Forest Biome'.

6. Compare between the 'Heartland Theory' of H. J. Mackinder and 'Rimland Theory' of N. J. Spykman.

7. Present your own views on dualism between 'Physical Geography' and Human Geography'.

8. Discuss the classification of world agricultural regions as given by D. Whittlesey and also give the basic of his classification.

9. What is meant by CBD (Central Business District) of a city? Discuss the main characteristics of CBD in a city.
