Instructions:
  • Answer any six Questions.
  • Candidates are required to give their answers in their own words as far as practicable.
  • All questions have been printed both Hindi and English. In case of ambiguity in Hindi version, the English version shall be considered authentic.
  • Parts of the same Question must be answered together and must not be interposed between answers to other Questions.
1. Answer any four of the following Each answer should be in about 150 words: 
  • (a). Describe the formation of major physiographic features in relation to the geological history of India.
  • (b). Discuss the major causes responsible for draught conditions in India with special reference o Bundelkhand,Marathwada and Telangana regions suggest suitable measures for its mitigation.
  • (c). Give an account of chief reasons for out-migration of human resources from Bihar and its impact on the economy and development of the State.
  • (d). Explain, with suitable examples, the role of market centres in achieving balanced regional development.
  • (e). Give a geographical account of inland water transport in India with special reference to Bihar.
  • (f). What are the major difficulties in achieving breakthrough in Green and White Revolution in Bihar? 
2. "The soil and biodiversity in India is the result of the geological structure, relief and climate," Explain the statement with examples.

3. Explain the mechanism of Indian Monsoon In relation to upper tropospheric conditions as well as El Nini phenomenon.

4. Discuss the potential for market and industry oriented agro-livestock development in Bihar. Give examples.

5. (a) "The disparities in the levels of regional development have increased due to liberation, privatization, and globalization policies of India," Explain the statement with examples.

(b) Critically evaluate the role of small and medium owns in achieving the balanced spatial urban development in India with examples.

6. Explain the role of rail-road network in the inter-regional and intra-regional commodity flow in India.Give suitable examples.

7. Mention the objectives of block level planning and explain its role in the process of decentralization of development in India. Give examples.

8. Bihar has a greater potential in the development of handloom and handicraft industries. Explain the statement with examples.

9. Give geographical reasons for the high population density regions of India and suggest measures to resolve the problems associated with them.
