Due to LokSabha elections in India, it is expected that India Premier League 7 will not be held in India. In this regard, three countries are in hot news including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and South Africa. Such news is in the hot stories of many newspapers that which country will be selected for hosting Indian Premier League 7.

The Indian Express has published a report in which it has claimed that Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are most likely to become host for India Premier League 7 matches. Earlier in 2009, South Africa was selected to conduct all IPL matches. It was the second edition of IPL in which Deccan Charges was the winner. That time, there were general elections in India, due to which, South Africa was selected by the BCCI for IPL2 matches. In the same way, the IPL 7 Schedule cannot be confirmed until final destination is announced by the BCCI.

But, it is not sure until it is properly announced by the BCCI. According to an official of BCCI, the picture will be cleared after announcement of LokSabha elections. Until then, they are considering that whether it will be possible for them to conduct few matches in India or they have to move abroad. In this regard, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are the most considered options due to short journeys. The official concluded that they have no hurdle in this matter, and all cricket fans have to wait until elections are announced.

Officer of BCCIadded that since it was not expected until the last minute of 2009 decision that South Africa will host IPL2 matches, because there were issues regarding security, so, they have same concerns now. So, they are considering security issues and the best time for this announcement will be after announcement of elections.

As IPL are conducted every year in the months of May and June, and these months are expected for elections. IPL fans have to wait for the final dates of polls, and just after this announcement, BCCI will announce the IPL7 schedule. In the mean time, BCCI is chalking out plans and schedules as well.

There are chances that South Africa can host the IPL7 edition, if the matches need to be played outside India due to LokSabha elections. Media is reporting that such options are under consideration of BCCI and it is just waiting for the election-dates announcement. Only then, BCCI will be able to finalize the schedule and announce it, publically.

The media reports reveal that IPL7 matches might happen in two phases- in India and outside. South Africa’s name for hosting these matches is not taken seriously. In the recent few years, the term between the BCCI and CSA officials are not good. Due to which, some sources claim that Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are the hot favorite for IPL7 tournament.

Next IPL schedule is expected by the months of April and May, which can clash with polling dates. That time, security risks will be higher than normal days. Fans of IPL cricket will have to wait until election dates are confirmed. As far as the schedule or country is matter, it is still under discussion of IPL governing council. The BCCI said, though there are issues with South Africa, but it is hot favorite place and they can consider it if matches need to be held outside India.
