Indian Team For Champions Trophy Announced : Gautam, Yuvraj Out- Vijay, Dhawan In

MUMBAI: BCCI Selectors announced the Indian team for Champions Trophy after the meeting at Mumbai the Champions Trophy will be played in England. Opening batsman Gautam Gambhir and  Yuvraj Singh are dropped and wicket keeper, batsman Dinesh Kartik is taken in to the team due to their performance in IPL.

The BCCI sellection committee is headed by chief selector Sandeep Patil who has released the names of 15 member team for the upcoming Champions trophy scheduled in coming month. Yuvraj singh and Gautam Gambhir exit is a bit surprising. All-rounder Irfan Pathan, Umesh Yadav, Vinay Kumar and spinner Amit Mishra are also made in the final list. 

Sikhar Dhawan is selected as an opener for one day matches due to his performance in Australia Series and ongoing IPL performance. 

Indian selectors seems to have decided to experiment with the young openers keeping the 2015 world cup in their mind.

India is schedule to play its first match in Champions Trophy with South Africa on June 6, prior to opening incounter two practice matches with Sri Lanka and Australia on 1st and 4th June, 2013 are in the schedule of Indian team.

Team India for Champions Trophy: Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Murli Kartik, Murli Vijay, Rohith Sharma, Jadeja, Ashwin, IrfanPathan, Umesh Yadav , Bhuvneswar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Mishra and Vinay Kumar.
