Smartphones have become a part of our everyday life. Visit if you want to get quality tech paper. Smartphones seem to pose privacy risks, as many experts have pointed out. It is simple to turn them into surveillance devices without damaging their function. Many people have the fear that the government, hackers, or service providers will use their devices to track their information.

The majority of the time, our iPhone is probably tracking our location. The good news is that there are location-based services we can use to prevent it—most of these run on the background, hence preserving your privacy while using technology.

How to Protect Your iPhone

  • Frequent Locations. Apple has a feature on their devices that gives them the ability to track your most visited places. The feature is Frequent Location. As a result, they can give you your travel time updates. The feature's purpose is to ease your day to day activities like a majority of other features. In reality, this features tracks where you are. It is possible to turn-off Frequent Location by following these steps. Go to the Settings menu and choose the Privacy option. Click on Location Services, and then click on System Services then disable Frequent Locations.
  • Location-Based Alerts. These notify you depending on your geographical location. These alerts can remind you to make a call or when to go to your next engagement subject to your geographical location. To turn-off, the alerts, follow these steps. Go to the Settings menu and click on the Privacy option, then click on Location Services, and then click System Services then disable the alerts
  • Location-Based Ads. Offers you ads on App Store and Apple News that are relevant to your geographical area. To opt-out of this feature, follow these steps on your device. Go to the Settings menu and choose the Privacy option. Click on Location Services, and then click System Services then disable the Ads.
  • Location-Based Suggestions. This feature gives you suggestions on apps you may like to install, depending on your geographical location. To disable the suggestions, go to the Settings menu and click on the Privacy option. Click on Location Services, and then click System Services and disable the Suggestions.
  • FindMyFriends. The feature intends to assist you in locating your family and friends and all those you care for in life. The feature can either use their iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. It makes use of a device's GPS abilities to locate others using the same feature. You can disable the FindMyFriends feature by going to the Setting menu, choose the Privacy option, and turn off ShareMyLocation.
  • Irritating Advertisements. Not all features consist of locations that you be able to turn on or off to regulate your privacy. One of the reasons Apple gathers your information is to help avail to you important advertisements on your device depending on your search history. These advertisements are not only annoying, but they can consume your data. Upon realizing that someone is tracking their behaviors, many people will feel uncomfortable.
  • Fortunately, you can deactivate the feature. Go to the Settings Menu and click on the Privacy option.
  • Then click on Advertising and permit the LimitAdTracking button. It will stop the iOS and Apple from tracking your information to avail ads to you. However, tracking can still take place, depending on your browsing history. It may enable all kinds of enterprises to track how you use your browser. Disabling the Safari feature can help prevent this. Go to the Settings menu, then click on Safari and permit DoNotTrack preference.
  • Delete Archives. A majority of people are not aware that their iPhones can save erased photos for up to 30 days. When you delete an image on your iPhone, it does not go away forever but instead goes to the Recently Deleted file. Ensure you completely delete your unwanted photos and videos. Erase the photos or videos from Recently Deleted files on the Albums option. The iOS 10 default setting can also preserve your messages indefinitely. To solve this go to the Setting menu> Messages option> Keep messages> pick your preferences.

Data protection is essential, especially with the rise in cyber-crimes. We must ensure we are not exposed by following the right steps.
