Following the Bihar government decision to create separate rural development department cadre BPSC has selected full basic cadre strength through 53rd 55th Civil Services Examination.

RDO having great time bound promotional opportunity as this is the first batch of officers in this cadre.

PolyEyes team has researched about the career growth and promotional avenues of RDO which is as follows.

After the appointment the officers will go for the one year training and then will be placed as Rural Development Officer (RDO) having scale of 9300-34800 (PB II) Grade Pay 4200

First Promotion

  • Block Development Officer (534 post in blocks) or Executive Magistrate (Total 147 post) having scale of 9300-34800 (PB II) Grade Pay 4800.

Second Promotion:

  • Assistant Project Officer (APO) 138 post.
  • Assistant District Development Officer 228 post.
  • Assistant Commissionaire Development Officer 54 post commissionaires level.
  • Assistant Director having 40 post state level.
  • Assistant Project Officer (APO), Assistant District Development Officer, Assistant Commissionaire Development Officer and Assistant Director (Total post 460)having Pay scale of 9300-34800 (PB II ) Grade Pay 5400

Third Promotion:

  • Project officer cum-Director, Account administration and Self employment, 38 post district level.
  • Project Officer-Cum-Director, National Employment Programme, 38 post district level.
  • District Development Officer, 38 post district level.
  • Chief Executive Officer, 38 post district level.
  • Deputy Dirrector,20 State level.

All the above 172 post in this category will having under 15600-3900 (PB III) Grade Pay 6600.

Fourth Promotion:

  • Deputy Development Commissioner cum Chief Executive officer 10 post.
  • Commissionaire Development Officer 9 post in Commissionaires.
  • Joint Director 15 post at state level.
  • Deputy Development Commissioner cum.

Chief Executive officer, Commissionaire Development Officer and Joint Director (total 34 post)Will come under 15600-39100 (PB III) Grade pay 7600

Fifth Promotion:

  • Additional Director 5 post State level.
  • Pay scale 37400-67000 (PB IV) Grade pay 8700.
  • Total cadre strength 1961.
