Ex Army Personnel Cracks BPSC Exam At 45

PATNA: Age don’t comes in the way as the hurdle to realize the dream. Hiralal Paul, an Ex- Jawan of the armed forces, has proved it with conviction by passing BPSC 53rd 55th civil services examinations at the age of 45.

Hiralal Paul is currently working with Bihar Police has spent 15 years in the Indian Navy as a sailor before his retirement, got the 458th rank in 53rd 55th BPSC examination, in his second attempt.

He is currently posted as a constable of the Special Auxiliary Police (SAP) with the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police, will be joining shortly as a sub-registrar.

Despite failure in the first attempt in BPSC, he didn't give up. "I had failed to qualify in my previous attempt," Hiralal said in Patna on Monday, adding, "But I was undeterred by my failure. Like a true soldier, I took my failure as a challenge and worked harder."

Hiralal Paul was able to write the BPSC examination at this age of 45 because of age relaxation given to the ex-armed services personnel.

Hiralal said he used to work as a Special Auxiliary Police jawan during the day and managed his time in the nights for the preparation of BPSC examination. He got support in his two adolescent sons, who were also preparing for the medical and engineering examinations.
