UPSC At The Verge Of Removing The Remaining Optional Too

DELHI: As per the new pattern for Civil Services Examination, the committee back then had notified the Union Public Service Commission will no more conduct exam on two optional papers but will reduce it to one optional paper.

But this decision certainly doesn’t seem to sustain as news on removing the remaining ‘one’ optional subject is also being spoken throughout. If the remaining optional is also removed how far it may affect the institutions all around and the selection process of UPSC commission, we may not comprehend.

Previously there were two optional subjects needed to be appeared, which among one was a language to test the candidates their excellence in proficiency of at least one of the Indian languages, whereas another optional comprised of various subjects other than language subjects. Language was the optional that only a candidate holding a degree on the same could appear for, whereas no such conditions were involved for the second optional paper.

Later during the recent changes by the committee, declared the removal of remaining optional paper but compensated by splitting the optional paper into two separate papers.

The language paper in one optional subject list and the subjects in another optional list were merged together as to form a fresh list of optional subjects. And here the restriction to opt for the language subject by those having a degree was completely removed. All this went well until the talk on removal of the remaining optional subject has been brought forth.
