Dance Festival At 'Big Temple' Of Thanjavur

Thanjavur, Feb, 20:The famous Artistes from Singapore, USA, Australia, France and Sri Lanka IS participating in the seven-day annual 'Brahan Natyanjali', to be held at the historic 'Big Temple' from February 20 to 26.

Obeisance will be paid the tribute to Lord Brihadiswara via well-celleberated dance forms of Indian , V Varadarajan, President of Brahan Natyanjali Foundation, has revealed that more than 500 artists will participate in the ongoing festival , comprising dance dramas.
Nine classical dance forms,that includes Kathak, Mohiniyattam, Odisi, Kathakali, Manipuri and Bharatha Natyam will be performed.

Artistes from Bangalore, Cochin, Pune, Manipur,New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Orissa and Andhra Pradesh will take part, he said.

Vempati Ravishankar, Sivakumar, Vijay Anand, Sheela Unnikrishnan Sri Devi Rajan, Gayathri Balagurunathan, Sri Latha Vinoth,Lakshmi Ramasamy, Vasanth Kiran, and film star Swarna Malya, will be among the well-known artistes taking part in festival, he said.

The dance dramas to be performed include Nathan Thazh Vazhga' on February 20, Sivaleela' on February 21, Nadaraja Vanthanam' on February 22, Thirukutrala Kuravanchi' on February 23, Inthum Iyyanum' on February 24, Sivaganga' on February 25 and Anantha Koothan' on February 26, he added.
