  • 3000 – 2600 BC: Harappa Civilization.
  • 1200 – 500    BC: Vedic Era.

  • 563 BC : Birth of Gautam Buddha.
  • 483 BC : First Buddhist council held at Satparni (Rajgirha).
  • 383 BC : Second Buddhist council held at Vaishali.

  • 327 BC : The conquest of Alexander the Great.
  • 323 BC : Alexander the great dies.
  • 322 BC : Rise of Maurayas, Chandragupta.
  • 303 BC : Chandragupta Maurya defeated Seleukos Nikator and the trans-Indus region transferred to Maurayas.

  • 272 BC : Ashaoka’s Reign.
  • 180 BC : Fall of Maurya’s and rise of Sungas.
