Panna National Park, is located in Panna district of India's heartland Madhya Pradesh, which is situated on the banks of ever flowing River Ken.

As per mythological story of Hindu's the Pandavas lived here in the thick forests during their exile. The Panna National park, established in 1981, and it has spread over about 543 sq km.

The National Park is loaded with the dense deciduous forests and has an worth watching wealth of wild life including chinkara, chital ,wolf, sambar, and sloth bear apart from the famous tigers. Leopards and Nilgais (antelope) are also quite common in this park.

Unfortunately, poachers have killed the number of tigers despite of this Panna serves as a perfect destination for the holidaying and unwinding in the lap of nature.

Must Consider:

Tourists must visit the Raneh Falls or the Pandav waterfall to see nature at its natural best. Head for the Ken Gharial Sanctuary and it is worth watching the gharial in its natural habitat.

Visiting the Orcha will give brilliant look of sixteenth century capital of Bundela rulers. The Khajuraho temples is also a must see spot in its vicinities.

Where to Stay:

Hotels and other sty spots are normally remains fully booked from October to May. Budget rooms are available from as low as Rs 1,000 and it provides quite comfortable stay.
The Deluxe rooms are not much as compared to budget rooms which cost about Rs 3,000.

Deluxe rooms are loaded with AC and internet access. Luxury hotels offer all range of modern facilities like pool, bar, currency exchange, health club and multi-cuisine restaurants. Attractive tourist lodges and tree houses are also on offer here and one can make advance bookings for them as well.

Best Time to Visit:

Panna tiger reserve is opens to public just after the monsoon season from October to June. Best time to see the Fauna and flora of the park is during summer (March to May).
One must keep in mind that the temperature can shoot up to 45 degrees in summer. Winters (December to February) are cool and pleasant.

Must Count:

The Jungle Plan includes goodies such as herbal massage.

The only transport allowed in the Panna National park is petrol driven jeeps, which can be hired at Madla Gate or at Khajuraho.
